Colonial Downs Now Hiring for Summer Season

Colonial Downs is now hiring for an array of seasonal positions at its summer thoroughbred horse racing season.

The season starts June 9 and continues through August 6.  Racing is generally conducted on a Friday through Tuesday schedule, starting at 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and 12:55 p.m. on weekends.

Available positions include bartenders, kitchen staff, wait staff, ushers, parking attendants, host/hostess, program staff, admission staff, mutuel tellers, money room clerks, track security, maintenance staff and assistant Horsemen’s Bookkeeper.

The mutuel teller (bet taker) position has the largest number of openings.    Anyone interested in that position should call (804) 966-7223, ext. 1037 and ask for Tracy or email mutueloffice@colonialdowns.com.

Colonial Downs is entering its twelfth season of live horse racing.  The track, located off I-64 exit 214 in New Kent, offers thoroughbred racing in the summer and harness racing in the fall.  It also operates nine off track betting centers throughout the state.
