General Admission

General Admission provides customer's access to the air conditioned first floor and all of the trackside amenities, including the areas around the finish line and paddock, as well as covered seating in the Grandstand.

The paddock area gives you a great chance to examine the horses and put your handicapping skills to work as the horses and jockeys prepare for the parade to post. These trackside areas put you directly alongside the field so that you can feel the intensity and excitement of each race as they thunder down the homestretch and drive for the wire.

General Admission customers can stop by any of our first floor program stands to purchase programs for both the Live Races as well as any Simulcast events.

Whether you are a professional handicapper or just a casual fan, our many pari-mutuel tellers and self service machines at this level give you the opportunity to put your potentially lucrative handicapping skills to the test.

For those patrons that are new to pari-mutuel wagering or perhaps just need a refresher course, General Admission also includes access to our Racing Education Center, where you can learn to wager like the pros.

General Admission also includes access to our family friendly first floor concession area where you can find a variety of food and beverage vendors, full service bars, draught stations and even a Game Room.

Dress Code: Casual attire; abbreviated and apparel which displays lewd or vulgar language will not be tolerated

• Thoroughbred - All floors are open one (1) hour to post time.
• Harness Racing - Gates open one (1) hour prior to post time.
• Colonial Downs prohibits patrons from bringing in food and/or beverages not purchased on the premises.
• No pets; service animals are welcome.
• Smoking policy: Colonial Downs is a smoke-free facility pursuant to the Virginia Clean Air Act.
